On June 29, 2024, Venerable Jing Yuan, the Chief Advisor of Singapore and Malaysia, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Malaysian Fellowship.
The Buddhist Institute, formed by the Lamrim Study Group of Singapore and Malaysia, has developed over the past 25 years and has established branches and classrooms in more than 30 locations. To foster mutual acquaintance among students from various regions, help more friends and family study Buddhism, and establish more study groups in more areas, Venerable Jing Yuan advocated and promoted the establishment of the Malaysian Fellowship.
Mission of the Fellowship:
- Connect with Malaysian fellow students in Singapore;
- Help friends and relatives from one's own hometown learn the Dharma.
Main objectives:
- Gather Lamrim students from various states or regions, and guide more Malaysian relatives to join study groups or establish new classes.
Unite students from various locations in Singapore and Malaysia.
Get to know friends from Malaysia or relatives of Lamrim students studying in Malaysia, and introduce them to join study groups.
Regularly organize the Malaysian Fellowship annual meeting.
Co-organize gatherings, form activity groups in each district, and carry out a rich variety of bonding activities.

The Malaysian Fellowship has an Executive Board, including:

Brief Constitution of the Malaysian Fellowship
This organization is named "Malaysian Fellowship". (Hereinafter referred to as "the Fellowship")
The meeting and event locations of the organization shall be determined by the Executive Board.
1. Through uniting Lamrim students from various states or regions, guide more relatives in Malaysia to join study groups or establish new classes.
2. Unite students from various locations in Singapore and Malaysia.
3. Get to know friends from Malaysia or relatives of Lamrim students studying in Malaysia who have moved to Singapore, help them adjust to life in Singapore, and introduce them to join study groups.
4. Regularly organize the Malaysian Fellowship annual meeting.
5. Co-organize gatherings, organize activity groups in various districts, and carry out a rich variety of bonding activities.
1. All students studying Lamrim may apply to become members of the organization
2. All members must join the Malaysian Fellowship and its regional groups to receive enrollment, class opening, and workshop information.
3. The Executive Board reserves the right to accept or reject any application without providing any reasons.
1. The Sangha appoints members of the Executive Board from among the members.
2. The primary responsibility of the Executive Board is to promote the development of the Dharma in Malaysia.
3. The Executive Board includes positions such as Chief Guiding Dharma Master, President, Vice President, Regional Presidents, Vice Presidents, Operations Director, Deputy Operations Director, Treasurer, Secretary, and others.
4. The term of office for all members of the Executive Board is 2 years, with the possibility of reelection. The President may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
5. If the President, President, or Vice President resigns or is relieved of their duties for any reason and is no longer serving, the vacancy shall be filled by the Executive Board nominating a candidate, approved by the Sangha and appointed.
The Executive Board shall convene a general meeting at least once a year, with meeting notices issued at least seven days before the meeting. A meeting can proceed if more than half of the members attend, and members who are absent due to valid reasons are also counted as present.
7. The Executive Board convenes meetings irregularly to discuss relevant matters.
1. Main Responsibilities of the President:
(a) Chairing general meetings and other conferences.
(b) Nurturing the development of regional affairs.
2. Responsibilities of the Regional President:
(a) Managing and caring for member groups.
(b) Communicating information to members.
3. Responsibilities of the Vice President: Assisting the President.
4. Responsibilities of the Operations Director:
(a) Implementing resolutions of general meetings and the Executive Board.
(b) Collecting information from various regions and forwarding it to relevant presidents, etc.
5. Responsibilities of the Deputy Operations Director: Assisting the Operations Director.
6. Responsibilities of the Treasurer: Managing the financial affairs of the organization.
7. Responsibilities of the Secretary:
(a) Responsible for meeting minutes.
(b) Responsible for maintaining and editing membership registers and all correspondence documents.
(c) Assisting in disseminating information.
8. Responsibilities of Committee Members: Assisting the Executive Board in promoting organizational affairs.
During the adjournment of the general meeting, the Executive Board may interpret this constitution and make decisions on matters not provided for in this constitution.
This constitution shall come into effect after the establishment of the Malaysian Fellowship Assembly on June 29, 2024.
Membership System
- All Lamrim students can apply to become members.
- Members must join the Chinese Fellowship Assembly and regional WhatsApp community groups to receive relevant information.

The state fellowship is specifically for areas where new Lamrim classes have not yet been established in that state. If your area already has a local fellowship, we encourage you to join that fellowship for interaction.
