Ban Foo Monastery Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Birthday Great Compassion Repentance Puja

🔶 Special Introduction to the "Great Compassion Repentance Puja"
The "Great Compassion Repentance Puja," formally known as the Thousand-Armed, Thousand-Eyed Great Compassion Dharani Repentance Ritual, integrates the Great Compassion Mantra with selected passages from the Thousand-Armed, Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara Sutra of Boundless Great Compassion. This profound ritual combines offerings, reverence, vows, and repentance, making it one of the most widely practiced repentance rituals. By participating sincerely in this Puja, one develops a sense of humility and cultivates the bodhicitta. This devotion invites blessings from Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and the Buddhas, dissolves obstacles, and increases blessings, leading to fulfillment and harmony. As the verse states: "In every place of prayer, the response comes; in the sea of suffering, Avalokitesvara serves as a vessel for deliverance."

🔶Highlights of the Ceremony
1. On Sunday, 16th March, the Sangha of Ban Foo Monastery will lead the puja in performing 200 recitations of the Great Compassion Repentance Ritual, launching the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Birthday Great Compassion Repentance Puja. The Puja aims to invoke Buddha’s light and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s universal protection and blessings.
2. A grand offering will be conducted before the Buddha. Both monastics and lay devotees will sincerely offer to the Triple Gem and dedicate the merits of the puja for blessings and transcendence. With the combined power of the puja's merits and the sangha's blessings, the dedication will benefit all prayer plaques submitted.
3. Merits will be dedicated to the participants and their loved ones: 【For the living: "May the entire family be safe and healthy, grow in blessings and wisdom, practice the Dharma without hindrance, and swiftly attain enlightenment."】 【For the deceased: "May they be reborn in the Pure Land, progress in Dharma practice, and ultimately attain Buddhahood."】
